Skyla Jacobs, MAeD, LCMHC
If you are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, or struggling with your emotions, then you have come to the right therapist. I am dedicated to helping my clients work through their journey and help them live a more balanced life. I offer both individual and couples counseling.
It’s okay to admit that you need help. However, you may not know where to start. Together we can create a unique plan for you to start your mental health journey. I work with adults, couples, and teens. I support members of the LGBTQ community, and Black and Indigenous People Of Color. I may not be able to solve all your problems, but I can promise that you do not have to face them alone.
Education and Experience:
I attended The University of North Carolina at Pembroke where I received my B.S. in Psychology as well as my MAeD in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have experience working with couples, BIPOC, as well as individuals looking to improve their self confidence and self esteem during new life transitions. I also have worked with clients who experience anxiety and depression.
My Approach To Therapy:
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person Centered Therapy to help you draw connections between the different issues in your life and how to better them. I also use Solution Focused Brief Therapy to help my clients better solve specific goals in their lives. I offer relationship counseling and marriage counseling using techniques that are tailored to your needs.
Fun Facts About Me:
I crochet in my free time. I enjoy spending time with my husband and my daughter. I love to read and my happy place is the beach.
